If you’ve got a Miami-Dade Public Library card, you can download three free, legal songs a week through a service called Freegal.

The service makes available more than 3 million songs from more than 10,000 labels in 60 countries. The exact offerings are constantly changing, but it’s safe to say there is LOTS of free, legal music to download.

You can listen to the music on any device, including iPhone, iPad, your computer, an Android or other MP3 player. The library has instructions for how to download music and how to transfer it to iTunes or other programs. Get the details here.

Free, legal music downloads is just one of the free services the Miami-Dade Public Library provides besides books. You can check out books to read on your Kindle or Nook, rent DVDs and CDs and participate in all kinds of free events.
