Disclosure: As you can read in the attached press release, our Firm filed a class action lawsuit against Bausch & Lomb yesterday. I am providing the information as a TOTD, however, because today I learned of a Herald reporter who only heard about this issue 2 days ago. It occurred to me that maybe there are others who have not heard about the risk of infection from using Renu. Having spoken to several victims, it is a very serious matter that can lead to the need for a corneal transplant or blindness.

Most all retailers then pulled Renu off their shelves. Key quotes from today’s Herald story: - Florida has the highest number of cases in the country, with more than 50 reported so far.
- ”We’ve had a quite a few calls,” said Debbie Desario, an officer manager and optician with Dr. Leonard Cherdack, an optometrist, in Kendall. ‘They want to know whether they should discontinue using [the product], and we tell them `yes’ ”.
- And despite all the publicity, some contact wearers were still in the dark last week. Chad Borders of Coral Springs hadn’t heard about the fungus and was still using ReNu with MoistureLoc.
- ”That’s scary,” he said.
