Create printable business cards at Businesscardland

Printable business cards at Businesscardland

Whip up a batch of business cards in a hurry at Businesscardland, then print them on your own printer.

The site provides a handful of basic templates to choose from, then lets you fill in as much personal information as you’d like (business name, phone numbers, etc.). Next, you choose from a palette of about 100 colors for the text, accents and background. The biz-card maker then produces a downloadable PDF with either a full sheet of cards for home/office printing or a single card you can give to a commercial printer.

The latter isn’t too useful, as it doesn’t include color separations. But if you’re heading out the door to a trade show or some other event and need a batch of business cards pronto, this site gets the job done. Thanks, Susy! — Rick Broida

Microsoft Photo Info tool: Digital Photography Review

Microsoft has today released a new ‘Photo Info’ tool designed specifically for digital photographers. After installation this tool provides a new option of ‘Photo Info’ on the Explorer context menu. The Photo Info dialog enables you to edit both EXIF and IPTC information in compatible image formats as either a single image or a collection. The Photo Info tool works on either Windows XP or Vista and is a free download.

Create a family tree with Geni

geni family treeCreating a family tree seems like a boring thing to do. Don’t get me wrong, its great to know where you’ve come from, but jotting it down on paper or in a massive, messy Excel document are not that appealing. Enter Geni. Michael Arrington broke the news on this intuitive family tree tool created entirely in Flash last week, and it just launched on Tuesday. Geni is like a living organism that beautifully expands your family information, and molds in to others on the web. Its ultimate goal is to create a family tree of the world. When you start to enter your information, you have the option of entering email addresses for each person added. Geni will then send out the tree to them as well. They add their data, thus expanding the tree further. It’s a far cry from the pen and paper most trees are created on, and also much more interesting to navigate through.

RubyLane

Source: Spungle: RubyLane (Verdict: What a site!)

We’ll admit it, we love eBay.  However, one of things that we hate about eBay is the fact that shady sellers sometimes dupe you in to viewing their product by including garbage in their titles and descriptions.  Also, sometimes you’re in the mood to shop through fine vintage goods and a simple search for “vintage” produces tens of thousands results.  So, what do you do you when you’re looking for antiques, collectibles fine art and vintage merchandise?  Take a walk down RubyLane and start the shopping!
We logged on to Ruby Lane and were pleasantly surprised by the speed and simplicity of the site.  We were in search of a vintage mens briefcase.  After a quick search for “briefcase” we were brought to a selection of briefcases available from reliable sellers, and before we knew it, we found our dream bag.  That simple!

Now, to be fair, one of us has a bag that is extremely similar to this one, so we’re actually not going to purchase it and leave it available for a lucky reader who’s looking to buy a bag at a steal of price.  But, using this bag as an example, you’d be amazed by what you can find.  It’s like having a high-quality thrift shop right in apartment sans the odor of mothballs.

With over 165 million hits a month Ruby Lane we’re obviously not the only ones that are in love with this site!
So, what are you waiting for?  Take a stroll down the magical Ruby Lane for some high quality easy to find luxury vintage items. We promise you’ll love it!
